Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses the IoT Club website and members' portal (“the platform”), run by the IoT Club, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Nagercoil Campus. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. They sit alongside the university's own rules and code of conduct, which always take priority.
1. Your account
- Membership is for students and staff of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Register with your own details and a real email address.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't sign in as someone else or share your login.
- Coordinator accounts carry extra permissions and must be used only for club work.
2. Attendance and fair play
- Check in only for sessions you actually attend, using your own QR pass.
- Marking attendance for someone else, or tampering with check-ins, leaderboards or quiz scores, can lead to removal from the club.
3. How we treat each other
The forum, messages and teams are for learning and building together. Please don't:
- Harass, insult or discriminate against anyone.
- Post spam, advertising, or anything illegal, obscene or unsafe.
- Share other people's personal information without their permission.
- Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the platform. If you find a security problem, report it to us privately — we'll thank you for it.
Coordinators may edit or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the projects, code, posts and photos you share. By posting them on the platform you allow the club to display them to members and, for project showcases and achievements, on the public website. Only post content you have the right to share, and credit others' work.
5. Learning materials
The club's notes, roadmaps and quizzes are free for members to read and download for personal learning. Please don't republish or sell them. Linked videos and websites belong to their creators and are subject to their own terms.
6. Hardware and safety
Projects involve electronics, batteries, motors and drones. Follow the safety guidance given in sessions, work under supervision where required, follow campus and legal rules on flying drones, and handle borrowed club equipment with care. The club is not responsible for damage or injury caused by ignoring safety instructions.
7. Availability
The platform is maintained by student volunteers and provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. Keep your own copies of important work.
8. Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
9. Leaving or removal
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing iotclub4tech@gmail.com. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the university's rules.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the club grows. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the platform means you accept it.
